The plants in Ginnie's Butterfly Garden also attract many other visitors to the garden. The same nectar that feeds the butterflies feeds hummingbirds, moths, bees and other beneficial insects. Food plants for the caterpillar stage are also planted in the garden. The garden is not "cleaned up" after the growing season since insects will overwinter in their non-adult phases. It is important not to collect materials from the garden even if it all looks dead. |
